Our Kids

 

Dear Friends in Christ,

 

Wow- we begin our Faith Formation Classes very soon.  Please watch our bulletins for update information about Religious Education and our youth.

 

The RE year kicks off with classes in September.  Blessed Sacrament will be continuing with the classes on the second Wednesday of the month from September 8, 2010 to May 2011.  There will be some changes because of Holy Days – please read the bulletin for schedule changes.  Classes will run the same as previous years from 3:30 pm to 6:15 pm for those in Kindergarten to 5th grade and from 6:00 pm supper to 9:00 pm for those in 6th to 12th grade.  The survey conducted at the beginning of August showed a strong request to remain the same as previous years.  Please keep an eye on the bulletin for any changes to that schedule.  St. Edward's and St. Joseph’s beginning dates are to be announced.

 

We will be having our "Children’s Mass" at Blessed Sacrament on September 12 at the 10:45 am Mass.  Please come and celebrate the Eucharist together with our children.  We will also be having our first Contemporary Mass featuring the Youth/Teen band on Saturday, September 18 at Blessed Sacrament at the 5:00 pm Mass.  “Contemporary Mass” is the name that will be used for all future Masses that were previously called Youth/Teen Mass.

 

Please pray for our Religious Education Staff members from all three parishes.  On the weekend of September 18th and 19th, we will be blessing those who have said “yes” to be a part of our young people’s lives.  In addition, at those Masses our ninth graders will be presented with a Catechism of the Catholic Church.

 

Please pray for our Confirmation students and First Reconciliation students as they prepare to receive their sacraments.  There will be a meeting for the second grade students of Blessed Sacrament in the church on September 29th at 7:00 pm to start preparing for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and for the Confirmation students, parents, and Sponsors of all three parishes on September 19th at 8:00 pm.  The First Reconciliation parents meeting for St. Edward's and St. Joseph's will be announced in the next bulletin.
